Get Messy | Creative Journal Workshop (6 Sessions)
So...what exactly is Art Journaling? Simply put, it is a visual diary--it's record keeping combined with creativity. Your art journal becomes a personal place to record your thoughts, memories, and emotions through images, art and words. The number one rule about Art Journaling is that…there are NO rules!
This hands-on workshop series of creative explorations is completed over 6 weekly sessions on Tuesday nights from 6:30 - 9:30. We will explore many ways to create in your own art journal with colourful and inspirational lessons.
- Session 1: Facing the Blank Page
- Session 2: Creative Composition
- Session 3: Layers & Textures
- Session 4: Hidden Secrets
- Session 5: The Written Word
- Session 6: Cover to Cover
Skill Level: This is a great place for beginners as well as more experienced artists. Each lesson is explained in detail and with the understanding that there are students who have little to no mixed media experience. There are also many opportunities for those who have more experience or who are more adventurous to take the lessons and build on them.
Materials: Urban Whyte will provide students with basic tools, brushes, paints, and aprons but students must provide the following materials to customize their lessons: Basic Mixed Media Supplies. Be sure to watch our short YouTube video explaining the types of materials you will need to source....most of them are common household items!
Workshop Policies: When coming to the workshop, be sure to wear paint-friendly clothing as sometimes we can get a little messy when being creative! Spaces are limited. Please stay home if you are not feeling well or if you have been in close contact with some one who has COVID. Please make sure to read the updated Cancellation Policy as well as the Workshop Safety Policy before checkout.
