I believe making art doesn’t need to be expensive. I love to use what I have and practice improvising and innovation in my art practice. I encourage you also to use what you have and collect first from what you have available in your own home before purchasing any additional materials.
- Blank art journal such as mixed media notebook that can be used for making two-page spreads (not coil bound)
- Large glue stick
- White Gesso or matte white paint
- Black Gesso or matte black paint
- 3-4 colours of your favourite acrylic paint colours (these do not need to be fine art paints, any paints will work!)
- Liquitex Matte Medium Fluid or DIY Liquid Patina
- Black fine-tip marker
- Charcoal Pencil
- Gel Medium Matte or Fusion Decoupage Gel
- Assorted Papers (vintage paper, scrapbook paper, watercolour paper, books, news print, tissue paper, tracing paper, junk mail, cardboard, etc.)
- 2-3 Water-soluble crayons, Oil pastels, or Chalk Pastel in your favourite colour
I will have some of these materials on hand should you not be able to find them before the start date, but you will (at minimum) need you own journal to work in
