Collage Fodder | Creative Workshop Series (6 Sessions)

  • Sold Out

Are you looking for a unique creative experience? Join together with us as we explore creative ways to make your own handmade collage papers (aka...fodder!) Handmade collage fodder is the best way to make mixed media art that is unmistakably YOURS with your favourite colors, your marks, your taste. Be sure to check out our workshop schedule for additional workshops & projects to incorporate your handmade collage fodder.

So...what exactly IS collage fodder?? The most basic definition of collage fodder is anything that can be used in the creation of a collage. Collage fodder can be collected (think old vintage book pages or ticket stubs) or handmade (think geli prints or handmade patterned papers).

Date & Time: This hands-on workshop series of creative explorations is completed over 6 weekly sessions on Tuesday nights from 6:30 - 8:30. You will learn to make your own handmade fodder to use in your art journal pages and collage art.

  • Session 1: Creative Mark Making
  • Session 2: Creating Your Own Stencils
  • Session 3: Introduction to Print Making
  • Session 5: Textured Layers
  • Session 6: Building Layers
  • Session 6: Mastersheets

Skill Level: This is a great place for beginners as well as more experienced artists. Each lesson is explained in detail and with the understanding that there are students who have little to no mixed media experience. There are also many opportunities for those who have more experience or who are more adventurous to take the lessons and build on them.

Materials: Urban Whyte will provide students with basic tools, brushes, paints, and aprons but students must provide the following materials to customize their lessons: Basic Mixed Media Supplies. Be sure to watch our short YouTube video explaining the types of materials you will need to source....most of them are common household items!

Workshop Policies: When coming to the workshop, be sure to wear paint-friendly clothing as sometimes we can get a little messy when being creative! Spaces are limited. Please stay home if you are not feeling well or if you have been in close contact with someone who has COVID. Please make sure to read the updated Cancellation Policy as well as the Workshop Safety Policy before checkout.
